I am confused about which one is the original. I have the one where he is in concert...i've been told that they're both originals, they just have different covers.???

    The one up top there is the later issue... no gatefold

    I've found 2 different covers to many of sly fam stone releases.

    In 1970, Epic rereleased A Whole New Thing, Life and Dance To The Music with new covers, probably because Sly didn't release a new album that year. And I'm guessing they updated the album jackets with newer pictures because the band changed a lot in three years, and when those LP's came out the first time, they looked WAY different from the Family Stone we know.

    But this was all before Riot...

    GENERALLY speaking the one with the gatefold is gonna be the original for anything
