  • Speaking of bloody steaks, let me tell you about my new all-time favorite food.

"Carpaccio Exotico" at Zsa Zsa on 64th and 2nd ave on the upper east side

the plate comes covered in a layer of carpaccio (reeeally thinly sliced raw filet mignon)

then, nicely arranged on top are

    hearts of palm
    slices of avocado
    slices of mango
and i always ask for sliced fresh mozzarella

topped with oil, vinegar, and lemon juice

put a little of each ingredient on your fork, chew slowly to let the tastes mix, and it is heaven in your mouth. Un. Freaking. Believable.

I was told to hit up this joint while I was in London briefly and Gaaaaaawd Dam! that 100% Aberdeen-Angus Scotch beef makes the diff

    Gourmet Burger Kitchen

As a Londoner I was going to make a case for this place, but feared accusations of Heresay and Blasphemy for claiming a non-American place did the best burgers. I'm working my way slowly through the menu, it help's I got the original branch 10 mins walk away from my house and they do take-out.

There was also a chain in BC, Canada that did the pickles sliced long ways, and also had a hot green chilli relish that was lovely too. Wish I could remeber the name of it.

i'm about as far from a food critic as one could be, (i'm fairly picky) so take this with a grain of salt, but does that dish described above not make anyone else gag a little bit?

Santa Monica on Montana and 12th or something. bread is quality, but you can only request how the burger is cooked - no change in the toppings. It comes with caramelized onions, Maytag blue and Gruyere cheeses and arugala.

    great beer selections too.
