Design Heads : HELP!!!!

Esteemed panel, how do you do "a spacey galaxy vibe" while keeping it " polished and serious"? I'm doing a "intergalactic" cover- but I guess my client thinks it's too hokey? I'm desperate for inspiration and/or examples.

Can you help a brother out? Deadline is looming...Thanks in advance!
