Am I the only person here surprised that "Cuban Linx" isn't #1 on people's lists so far? I thought the conventional wisdom is that this was the best Wu-Tang solo joint, hands down?

Especially on some NYC rap shit, I know I'm supposed to submit to the ways of my fraternity brothers. But still I find myself wanting to date a Wu album with hair under her armpits.
it's kinda funny how in the past 5 years or so... we're so used to getting the promos/advances/leaked versions of albums, that by the time it actually comes out, we're more fond of the demos... seems to happen a LOT these days... like in the case here of bulletproof wallets... and the same could be said about 'fishscale' right now after "charlie brown" was removed from the official version & what not...
I think it's interesting - and a bit gratifying to my mind garden - that only 2 people put Tical in their Top 5 ... people rode so damn hard for that shit when it was new, and everyone seemed to think Meth was the best of the Wu, but damn he fell off so hard that heads don't even like Tical anymore...wow.
For what it's worth, I agree.
Mine, in order, are:
Liquid Swordz Cuban Links Return to the 36: Dirty Version Bobby Digital Ironman
As far as I remember "The Watch" was already edited out of the promo's...
really? I also have the promo single of The Watch/Flowers - The watch with the Barry White steez
Yeah, I've got the single too - I thought you were talking explicitly of an actual promo release of the album w/that track... the OG promo LP of BW includes the other tracks I mentioned

However, non kneejerk reaction would be Pretty Toney - Ghostface (But only if I can erase Tush from the tracklisting and my scarred memory)
who will be the first to throw a wrench into the whole affair and put No Said Date in there at #2?

Those are the only solo jobbies I really listened to as albums.
Ghostface is vastly overrated IMO. I still need to hear Fishscale though.

With "The Sun" and the original "Flowers"?
As far as I remember "The Watch" was already edited out of the promo's...
I propose a tiered system.
Tier one, in no order within the tier, includes Linx and Liquid Swords.
Tier two, in no order, includes all the Ghostface albums (except Bulletproof) and Tical.
Tier Three includes ODB's joints, No Said Date and the Inspecter Deck jawn.
Tier four are the remaining Rae albums, Killah Priest, etc.
really? I also have the promo single of The Watch/Flowers - The watch with the Barry White steez
