This reminds me that punk rock stuff is actually what I can't help singing along to the most, to the point of annoying others around me because I just...can't...stop singing.
buzzcocks, clash, misfits, jam ... I have this inexplicable need to let the world know I know every word to every song

Exactly, by the way, I am off to see The Misfits (or what constitutes The Misfits these days) tomorrow night. It's the trio version with Jerry Only & Dez & Robo from Black Flag, hopefully they will be good. They should play some Black Flag stuff too, that would be rad, I really liked the Black Flag stuff with Dez singing.
I just started listening to the Jam, can't believe I slept for so long

It was a few years back, but that was by far the best of the "supergroup" punk reunions I ever saw ... it's like a "best of 1981" show of all the rawest Misfits tunes, all the early Black Flag shit, some Circle Jerks, all ripped out one after the other with barely time to catch your breath. I hope the club you're seeing them in is small, it helps.
"No Regrets" Tom Rush "Winter In America" Gil Scott Heron "America" Simon & Garfunkel "You're Still A Young Man" Tower Of Power "Cortez The Killer" Neil Young "All Day Music" War "El Paso" Marty Robbins

Talk about "singing along"
I am now so amped for this show. I will probably be teaching on Wednesday without a voice.
Nostalgia 77 "seven nation army" Free Design "make the madness stop/59th st bridge" The Road - "she's not there" (the 3rd harmony part is my favorite) Dee-lites "are you my woman" (the baritone "girl you set my soul on fire" is killin it!) Linda Lyndell - "what a man" Syl Johnson - "concrete reservation/i do my homework" The Slits - "heard it through the grapevine" Cody Chestnuts part in The Roots "seed 2.0"
man i could go on for hours, but these are the main offenders.
Nu shooz-I Cant Wait Stevie Wonder-All I Do Beck-Golden Age Bob Dylan-House Carpenter Jorge Ben-Comanche (even though I do't know what he's saying) Sergio Mendes-Mais Que Nada (same thing here) All of Beach Boys Pet Sounds Motown Misfits Cortex-Tropleau Bleu Andre 3000-Prototype Big Daddy Kane

double totally and some of that list, too - which overlaps with what i play out.
I sing along to headless Heroes, but I mostly sing it without the record playing. It is so fun. I sang the whole B-side the other day while I was getting ready. it drove my girl insane. "in the came the religion, the liquor and the guns!"
cna anyone actually sing in portugese, it just turns into nonsense when I try.
