Whenever I see an auction like this I always think about the listing fee... isn't it charged regardless of whether the item sells?

And isn't it hundreds (if not thousands) for an opening bid this high???

Yes. Insane. I was just trying to price check some of my classical LPs.

this guy has several $500,000+ records listed.

Gots to be a joke. (an expensive joke.)

    One feedback too.

i like how all three photos he posted are equally shitty... but yeah, if i had the loot to invest in that gem, i'd not sleep.

I don't know. That looks like the Dynaflex era RCA label font.

He's got it on his bed too. How exciting.

How much would shipping insurance cost for something like this? And if it were worth that much why wouldn't he sell it a Christies or some other highend auction place?

look closer, dude got bad feedback for "accidentally clicking on buy-it-now, and can't pay.I am dissapointed" from $1,000,000 Dynaflex guy! LOL

Fatback, I would pay $300 for a CD of that.

No. The "crazy listing fees" thing is a myth - I'm pretty sure only automobiles
and real estate have higher insertion fee rates:

    Insertion Fees
Starting or Reserve Price Insertion Fee
    $0.01 ??? $0.99 $0.20
    $1.00 ??? $9.99 $0.35
    $10.00 ??? $24.99 $0.60
    $25.00 ??? $49.99 $1.20
    $50.00 ??? $199.99 $2.40
    $200.00 ??? $499.99 $3.60
    $500.00 or more $4.80

  • SoulOnIceSoulOnIce 13,027 Posts
Also, based on the following table from eBay,
the final value fee if you actually sold something
    for $1,000,000 would be:

    $15,015.56[/b]

which would be pretty hard to swallow - no wonder that dude was like OOPS

    Final Value Fees

Closing Price / Final Value Fee

    Item not sold No Fee

    $0.01 ??? $25.00 - 5.25% of the closing value

    $25.01 ??? $1,000.00 - 5.25% of the initial $25.00 ($1.31), plus 3.00% of the
remaining closing value balance ($25.01 to $1,000.00)

Equal to or Over $1,000.01 - 5.25% of the initial $25.00 ($1.31), plus 3.00% of the initial $25.00 - $1,000.00 ($29.25), plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance ($1,000.01 - closing value)
