or is it just me, i was burning some Joni Mitchell and a Traffic album last night and both albums sounded like shit in the headphones, or do most mid to late 70s major labels pressings suck?

The first Judee Sill record sounds pretty decent. Heart Food suffers from a bit of over ambitious production, but is not sonically bad. Dig on the first Jackson Browne and second Eagles albums for Asylum, I'm not really fans of either, but they hold up.

Things almost certainly got worse when Elektra and Asylum were folded into one another, though the Tom Waits records are really special.
