Thats cool. Did anyone see that Funkadelic special that aired on PBS a couple months back? Probably old news to you guys, I thought it was pretty fresh to see on OPB none the less.
Isn't that like the craziest (in a good way) schitt you've ever seen? It's like a smooth ass 60's vocal group ala the Temps or Four Tops dancing with choreographed moves and singing, but like TOTALLY out of their minds on acid. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE WATCHING!!! The best schitt evar, mayne. Can somebody hook me up with a George Clinton-with-ring-shaved-around-his-head avatar?
Well, it says it in the first post in the thread, but it was "Say, Brother" a Boston local PBS show that was on for decades - still is on, but with a new name, "Basic Black."
I've told the story so many times I didn't want to repeat it, but long-story-short, they replayed the Parliament episode of Say Brother in it's entirety last year - and I found out about it the day AFTER it aired. This was not a good moment.
those concerts featured on the doc can be downloaded using torrent or on shareazaa. i think one is from landover michigan but its the other one with glen goins that kicks it into overdrive from mothership connection tour. everyone on soulstrut needs to see this latter on. if they have not, it is simply the best funk i have ever seen or heard...fred, maceo, pee wee, breckers on horns....i can't remeber exactly where i found them but i have them on avi and both are really high quality....a world of difference from the 1969 say brother permormance which is also amazing but shows them more as a temptations styled group (albeit much louder, raggedy).
here is the motor booty...but you need to find the mothership connection...i will try to track it down again

That was a hot clip. 1969 was such a great year for music! I never heard of that show before. I got to get out of the house more or something.
By the way, as many of you probably already know, the theme music to "Say Brother" was written and performed by SS member Monty Stark and Stark Reality...
