Didn't somebody post here recently that Martin just takes major "family film" roles to support his modern art collection.????

Pretty hard for any comedian to stay cutting edge over a 30 year stretch.

What on this list jumps out at you as "legend"ary?

And you better not come back with Planes, Trains & Automobiles!

"The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" (1969) TV Series (writer)
"The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" (1967) TV Series (writer)

    gameover

i also heart "deadmen don't wear plaid" (but i'm a noir kinda guy)

parenthood & planes, etc were cool cause they had him playing a straighter guy role
and i never was a huge fan of his jerk/wild n crazy guy act, maybe overplayed at the time ?

snl is still on nbc ? wow

An amazing number of "cutting edge" comedians have died at an early age.
    Lenny Bruce
    Bill Hicks
    John Belushi
    Andy Kauffman
    Chris Farley

    Or had tragic personal lives
    Richard Pryor
    Charlie Chaplin

The only one I can think of that has stayed on top of his game for 30+ years is George Carlin
