Been feeling this one lately:
Stone Cold
Sorta definitive of the sound I'm into these days
Remember when this was a multi-hundred dollar 45? Now it's like a coaster. Still a great song though.
I remember when Jinx74 gave me a copy.
I HEART JINXY, YA BIG HUGGABLE, TOOFLESS OAF!
Herm
amazingly, OM just sold a copy for like $60. hahah. fucking ebay, I'll tell you what.
I've had this one for five years and used it once.
I said daybreak in the morning
I said daybreak in the morning
My baby, she's gone, without a warning
Where can my baby be?
I said where can my baby be?
And if anybody seen my baby, please send her home to me
The sun comes up in the morning
The moon comes up at night
Since my baby left me
ain't nothin' going right
Walkin' 'round in circles
With no place to go
I'm stayin' up all night long
Spendin' all my dough
And until I find her
I guess I'll live up in sin
And now it's daybreak in the morning
I said daybreak in the morning
My baby, she's gone
Without a warning
---
I can't stand it
Have you seen my baby?
She's just about five feet tall, yeah
And she's built up from the ground, yeah
I been riding 'round all night long
Yeah, it's early in the morn'
And I ain't found her
But I gotta find my baby, yeah
I was pleased to finally cop for $25. Finally got around that RIGHT PRICE!

Ocote Soul Sounds : Divinorum / Look Sharp
Fruitmeat / Giant Step
Look Sharp
Ace and limited two track 7" on Bobbito's Fruitmeat label. Ocote Soul Sounds are an afro-latin band built around core members Martin Perna of Antibalas and the Mighty Imperials' Nick Moyshon and Leon Michels. These two tracks represent their retro sounds that have become Stateside nu jazz anthems, especially at Rich Medina's NYC Jump and Funk nights.
NICE. I always wondered how their second album sounded. I think I'll follow suit.
Northville High School - Left Bank

phil cohran - the new frankiphone blues
Hippy jazz for the new mil. Plus a four tet sample - who knew? Inducing REM sleep here in about 5 minutes.

I CAN SEE MY HOUSE FROM U HERE
you remind me that I STILL need a mint copy of shades of deep purple. haha. hush is my jam. for friggin real.
here's a tune a lot of you might already have. but for those that don't, you need this. I have had this record for a minute, (thanks simon), and have been repeatedly drawn back to this song. I will wake up and need to hear this. it will be late like a night like this, an I will need to hear this.
grodeck whipperjenny - just enough room for storage
Phil Upchurch - You wouldn't, you couldn't
Stan Freberg - Heartbreak Hotel
Daniel Santacruz Ensemble with some funky Beethoven, "Per Elisa"
And some nice japanese big band shizz by Nobuo Hara & Sharps and Flats, "Let's Roll in Sake"
Nice thread!
