Friday in Scarborough finds....

edited January 2006 in Strut Central
Hit a sick collection this morning. Highlight (many doubles):

Love both sides for good reason.

You've heard the Ed Lincoln version of "Cochise", now hear the Trini version Sick new discovery.

The Trini David Axelrod.

"Kaiso" or calypso basically means come again and much of the early musci from Trinidad is in the call and response mode. This melody is traditional and can be heard in various muscial forms (the Jamaican Gaylad's ?Afria We Want To Go" comes to mind immediately).

Typically island/surfy guitar ...and a sound I adore.

Belive this is Trini, too. "Tait" or "Taitt" is a trini last name and there was a band called the Vikings from there - this is mostly likely one of their earlier singles.

Lazy Soul

Ill reggae soul track which I'll be keeping.

Killer island samba (and a double! if you can believe it).

This track has breaks...and plays VERY loud...record is a 1/4 cm thick.

Double.

Hella funky reggae disco cut. A double.

He had great taste in soul, too

Deep Montreal disco LP from Haitian, HPN.

K in Canada.
