  • [i]I know.
    That it's tough.
    Comin' up.
    In the streets.
    You will.
    Be Strong.
    Because you can't.
    Be weak[/b].

How you gonna misquote a lyrical genius?

  • I occasionally draw inspriation from the lines after that:

    you gotta put your mind
    on achieve mode
    go for your goals
    BOOM BOOM
    EXPLODE

"yeah, superman, superstar, gimme super fat dough, like Pablos Escobar"

  • To add something sad to this thread.
You remember the time when Lil' Dap was touring without The Nutkracker ?? I met Lil' Dap and asked for his partner and he was like "Yo he is in jail" Than a few weeks later I was at D&D to do an interveiw and their he was. But he was really strange. Acting like mental handicaped people. He sat on the D&D couch with the big ass TV in front and moved his chest for and back, for and back. I dont know if its named the same in english but doctors call that hopsitalism in germany. It looks like what the jews do in front of the wall in Jerusalem. Nobody seemed to be astranged by that except for me. Later on I talked with him and he seemed normal, but after that he did the same. Maybe he was doing something like dancing while sitting.

    P.S.
The name "Lil' Dap" can be misunderstood in german language as "little idiot".

I've always liked the "Raw is how I get and mics I rip/ Bullets I use to insert in my clip."

At least he's putting bullets in his clip and not, I dunno, peanuts or pennies or something in there. Could be a recipe for disaster.

What's great about Melachi is that his flow as as simpleton as his lyrics. He's like STRICTLY and at all times one syllable per beat. It's hilarious.

These guys must have some crazy dirt on Primo. I dunno why else he would make beats for 'em.

  • "Twelve O'clock mass, kneel down and pray,
Like my man Ray I got the right one baby,
So say what you say, but say it in my face,
I'm like an open case with no clues or trace"

wait, i dunno. dj premier doesnt seem to have the greatest taste in emcee/lyricism... just goes to show just how dope his production WAS.

"I keep it movin' and can't shit hold me back
I'm on your map I bet you didn't even know that"

"I make you wanna jump, sike, I kill a fuckin' mike
I write the hype dope lyrics that you like"

man, i need to go home and listen to this album again. too good. haha

  • I had a friend with alcoholic tendencies who would do that same rocking thing when he had overconsumed. You just had to leave him alone and let him do it you couldn't move him or make him stop or anything. This always made me uncomfortable.

Word. Living Proof is one of the best rap albums ever. Lil' Dap had a lot of great lines as well.

is there a modern day version of group home? dap looks like he has fetal alcohol syndrome. poor guy.

i hear a lot of raps out there that sound less than half-witted, albeit it's not by choice or research. it's merely what's out there. back in the jiggy era my friends and i would bag on ma$e, saying he legitimately sounded retarded. not to be on that old man tip, but compared to stuff i hear now, he doesn't sound so bad as i remember.

  • I always thought Words from the Nutcracker was pretty dope. Gonna swim in big bucks like Scrooge McDuck. Not amazing, but had good attitude.

The comments on the video are pretty cute:
