    People come out. They are into it.

    However people are more interested in drinking for the duration of the open bar, and not much else.

    Also, once it's done people are spent and they're drunker, messier and nastier than they normally would be. People leave earlier as well.

    I'm not a fan.

    Seems a bit desperate when it's some shit beer, but bars seem to go for it. Probably coz they get the shit beer for free. aka Rheinlander

    That vodka has been produced in Poland for ages. It was imported to the States for decades too until 1978, when the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms banned it b/c it was believed that a chemical in the Bison grass was carcinogenic. It'll be back on the market soon, though.



    Make it a point to try it if you haven't yet. Tasty, tasty stuff!!

    I am personally a big fan of the open bar. 3 shots of patron please, and your best scotch on the rocks.



    However, Fake open bars where all they have is crappy beer = no good. Unless its an art gallery and they have crappy wine too. Then im cool as long as there is also food and some dj in a suit playing downtempo.

    excellent point. i don't drink beer and get very messy on wine, so if the open bar isn't a real open bar, i'm sipping soda water.

    agreed, with this one exception.
    i did a party for diesel jeans...open bar allllllllllllll night. 1000+ people.
    what a mess, a good mess....nobody left.

    the worst is cheap beer + cheap service (fuck waiting in line for some bullshit all you can drink, then the kegs run out)
    Never pay for open bar unless its thourough

    I'm confused. You don't like beer (pretty standard, many females don't)but you get "messy" on wine but not on hard booze?

    i hate wine too.. gives me a mad headache the next day.

    scotch on the rocks all day.

    white wines and heinekans does not make a nice open bar

    i can drink wine with food, but that's about it. otherwise, i'm dizzy, emotional, sick to my stomach and not fun to be around. it also makes me break out in red itchy bumps on my arms now and then.

    with hard liquor, i'm mouthy/obnoxious, dancey, flirty and a tad confrontational. you know, the regular drunk stuff.

    Red wine messes me up waaay more than hard alcohol too. I could drink gin and tonics all night, but gimme 4+ glasses of wine and I'm sloppy. I don't drink wine very often because I'm about as far from 'classy' as it gets, so I'm not conditioned to it. It's a totally different drunk.

    I remember, er sorta, going to a wine party my first year out of college and hitting on this girl all night with a red wine crust around my mouth. I never noticed until she left and everyone starting laughing at me. Good times
