Best thing Glenn Campbell did, and still the finest version, IMO

The Friends Of Dean Martinez do a real good spooky reverby guitar instrumental version.

    NO DOUBT

Sometimes there is no such thing as a "favorite version." There's the OG, and then there's everybody else. Glen Campbell's the main man running things as far as "Wichita Lineman," but there's one other version that is so over the top it's beautiful:

Sammy Davis, Jr. did a classic remake on his Motown album, Something For Everyone.

Matter of fact, anybody got that version on MP3? I can use that for my lite schitt folder. The OG "Sunny" by Bobby Hebb too.

It's just so nice and clean, no frills, no muss no fuss...they hit everything just so. Damn, that's a nice tune.

For over-wrought, over-the-top-soulfulness, though, I also dig the Dells' version from Love is Blue, though the tune is barely recognizable.
