I bought another hundred plus reggae, soul, and jazz titles (mostly reggae), including a lot of Wackies stuff, of course Studio One and Wildflower originals, etc. yesterday
Just got Garland Green on Boardwalk from a walk-in.
FMU was crazy, tonnes of great wax copped but standouts include Big Youth LPs on OG Negusa Negast label (his own), Willie Colon El Malo, Lloyd McNeill "Treasures", an extra of the Andrea Vereen on Peacock, a private lounge joint with several great covers, two copies of Sam Dees sealed, a raer Saafir promo, and one of the rarest Fela titles out there:
If you're basing that on the cover of the record, please note that is not really how she looks. I was always mystified why they used that picture (it's a really cool album, btw. Great find Hcrink!). I used to have a Godard photo book and would spend way too much time staring at film stills of her.
well, i guess her look is an acquired taste. you might have to see her on screen to realize her beauty has a lot to do with her presence.
karina is a good look, but .. jane b. je t'aime/melody nelson era? ...
Both are rocking the same look - it's a good look - but it's kinda the same - pouty lips, "quoi? moi?" doe eyes, skinny body, thin floppy hair, feminine tomboy, tres Francaise...
Nucleus-We,ll talk about it later lp Vertigo Colloseum-Valentyne suite lp Coltrane -Giant steps lp and Sun Ship Blackfeather-Mountain Madness lp Rare Oz Psych rock Miles-Seven steps to heaven lp Oz Surf Soundtracks. Drouyn, Crystal Voyager,Morning of the Earth lps
And I picked up Black beauty"kids record on disney label which has some unintenially adult samples and uses a womans voice to be the voice of the horse "At first I wasn't used to being ridden every day but after Master rode me for a while I started to enjoy it "

45 new birth - you are what I'm all about/until It's time for you to go (rca)
Hopefully I'll get to go digging on friday. Weather permitting. I usually work from March to The end of October. This year the restaurant I work at is staying open an extra month. No bueno !!! November was my month to dig !!! Oh well
Most I have been buying from Allan Bastos in Brazil. I send him money every week, and buy and buy and every month or so he ships. I also picked up a few from www.suprerflyrecords.com and one from Gemm (they are generally overpriced, but every now and then you find a bargain.
I picked up all of one record at the WFUV record fair. The original 10" soundtrack to Black Orpheus for $15. I really like it becuase its got lots of talking spoken word parts and background noise like lifted right from the movie so its more a sound collage. Im thinking I'll post it on the next sabadabada update in december.

"well chuffed"
Anna Karina=
I was just thinking that nobody EVER mentions this record on here... powerful stuff
Is that Fela the early early shit? I recognize some of those titles... plus it has a lot more than 2 songs
Yeah, it's a TV musical soundtrack, I think. He did the music & lyrics.
she sings a couple songs, serge sings a couple, and then the male lead fro mthe film sings some too.
and yes Anna Karina is
this reminds me of the dude we called "corn-nut tooth" in school. I guess telling the story is not even needed as it is implicit in the name.
