Sound Forge registration problems--anyone else?

I've been using Sound Forge 6.0 for years now and never had any problems, but recently, when I tried to save a .WAV as an .mp3, it asked for an mp3 conversion tool authorization code. I figured my cr*ck of it had somehow expired, so I DLed Sound Forge 8.0 with a keygen and all that. But I had the same problem. Anyone else experience this or have suggestions?

yeah i had a similiar problem with acid, it said the mp3-plugin was expired. i just installed a new cracked version of soundforge that came with that mp3 plugin... and it started working in acid again. uninstalled soundforge (i rock wavelab) and it still worked in acid.

  • Just thought I'd re-up this thread. I found another version of the F*rge to install and it had a keygen for all the plug-ins, but I'm still outta luck.

is there a way to install JUST the mp3 2.0 plug-in? If you'd rather answer via PM, that's cool.

Thanks to min vaen who tried to hjaelp me last time.

  • same thing happened to me, but I just now take the .wav, put it in acid and render it as an mp3.

Aha, but now I get the same message in Acid.

It is very aggravating. It's almost as if they want me to pay for the program.

there should be an installer for just the mp3 plug-in, i can check to see if i have it when i get home from work. or you could just use that free software i recommended before

This happened to me too a while ago. I just got some MP3 crack and it has worked since so I assume it's possible just to get the plug-in. Anyways since it's working for me I can't test this but I think this the one I used: http://s12.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=136G5HXD9KE251F53QS1GJQFMJ

Read the damn.nfo file for instructions. And not to assume you are doing something wrong but you register by going to Save As, choosing MP3 for file type and going for the Custom options. You prolly already knew this and used similar crack but whatever.

If it doesn't work this is good for searching cracks: http://astalavista.box.sk/

  • What an excellent second post! Thanks, Homie.

Looks like the crack only works for Win98 and 2k; I have XP. I'll try it a few times, though.

And welcome to SoulStrut. Have you introduced yourself yet? You should start a new thread and do just that.

  • The MP3 plugin has to be registered seperately with its own code. To launch registration screen all you have to do is open an audio file in Sound Forge and in the save as options choose mp3. The MP3 plugin registration screen will then pop up. Register it with the proper keygen and you're good.
