On the "things to do before I die tip" I knew this guy at university who was really weird. Last I heard he decided to ride his bike around the world (starting in BC, going up to Alaska, then boarding a ship to Asia, etc).
Anyway, he scopes the internet to check when this one cargo ship leaves somewhere in Alaska and finds out if he can board it. So, he starts riding his bike and finally reaches Alaska... but in the 2 months it took him to ride his bike up there, the shipping company went out of business!
I saw him yesterday, poor guy.
