This is the 1979 LA City College Jazz Band lp, "Alice in Welfareland". Get Your Download On Look at that cover. The titletrack, as well as having one of the most gangster names in the history of music, is a certified banger. Its in three movements and 12 minutes long. It ranges from almost straight ahead jazz to funkier territory. The playing is great from start to finish. No open drums, no loops as used by your favorite producer, but this shit is a heater IMO.probably not the rarest by anymeans, but here, I present it as a gift on this holy wrackord day.Every LACC record directed by Woody James is worth pickign up, BTW. The 1974 album (or maybe 76?)with a close up shot of a trumpet on the cover is delicious .
