    Today so far at Work:

    2 Tables
    1 Printer (the top sounds just like a tight snare)
    1 Table Calendar (does that count as the table too?)
    1 microwave

    I think back then with 2.12 it would erase all your sequences if you dicided to add a sample to the beat later on.... wtf.
    I guess you just found a way to work with it and got used to it, But trust me the real power of the 60 is only unleashed with the upgrades. SCSI & OS!
    Old OSs also had meanass time limitations. All solved with 3.11 woohooo

    Apart from that itsa sweet baby...
    im on 3.10 myself, gotta order those 3.16 rom chips...

    akai mpc 60 II from 1990-2002. akai mpc 3000 2002-present. maybe i'll get a 4000 when i dont hear anymore complaints about em'. peace, stein. . .

    First off, that pic in your post is THEE SHIT...
    I make sorry excuses for beats on an Ensoniq ASR-10 (memory fully expanded, but no Zip Drive nor 8-outs ). I also use a whole bunch of records.

    Yo Phil if you serious about picking a fresh and minty 3k up I can lace you with my contact in Cali. Dude is 100% real and is the nicest seller I have ever dealt with. I'm saving up on a SP once my 3k cools down I got last month,..

    Yeahhh... I need a good ass deal, though (I am cheap). I just need to stop spending thousands on jerseys and go ahead and get a nice protools set up first. Once I do that the next thing on my to do list will be that 3000, though.

    Ive used the 3000 mad times. I think its cool, but hardly a step up.

    Im on the 2000xl and the 4000. MOstly the 2000xl still.

    That's exactly what I'm moving on to. Just need to find a nice minty asr with oex6 & Scsi.
    Too bad it is impossible to find a purple screen here in Germany.
    I really wonder about heat issues though, My 3k is all chilled but I heard the older ASRs really turn into waffleirons after a time and I'm the kinda leave the mpc on for half a day dude...

    I've been back and forth through machines over the last 3 years (2 Ensoniq EPS's, an SP-303, an Akai MPC2000XL, an Ensoniq EPS16+ rack, an Akai S950) right now I'm using the MPC60II w/13 sec. of sample time and the 3.10 OS, and I'm trying to give the S950 another chance (I just snatched one off eBay for $102.50). I have no idea how to MIDI these 2 together. Until I figure that out, I'll just have to sample in the 950 then re-sample in the 60.

    I was hating mine too, aside from the way it made my snares sound, I hated that damn screen getting all those lines through it!
