    Alright, since I'm one of the cheaper ones around here

    KLH 911b - 100W bookshelf, best sound for the price.

    Either 2 pairs or 1 pair plus a cheapo sub/old hifi woofer you buy at a flea. You should be able to get everything plus cables for $100. Hooked up to 100W amp w/ 4 channels you should get great "performance" in a small room set up.
