I have a copy of it too.
In my opinion, it's highly overrated.
mate, feel free to sell me your highly overrated copy at a hugely undervalued price anytime.
Siro I got a 30 second mp3 from the OST if you can't find it anywhere else, drop me a message and I will email it to you.
Cheers!
James
heya mate, when I get to Australia, I'll send u a copy...
I'm working on an Australian compilation too, I might try rip one of the tracks off there for it...
I don't think it's overrated. It's easily one of the best things to ever come outta Australia... it's up there with Arena, Joker Is Wild, etc.
peace.
peace.
haha, i was about to say!
has anyone actually seen the movie? Its some crazy underwater documentary right?
I haven't seen it but I know people who have... it was a husband and wife couple who had a TV series and they would go underwater in cages and chain suits and swim around with sharks... scary underwater drama raer...
Didn't they used some tracks off the INNER SPACE OST on that movie THE LIFE AQUATIC?
peace.
They used tracks off Inner Space and Solar Flares. There are also some nice words about Sven in the linear notes off the Life Aquatic soundtrack. I don't have it here with me now, but it was something about how Wes Anderson heard Inner Space through Noah Taylor and then he bugged out and tracked down all of Sven's other music and how he was still alive and making music etc..
I think it was during his time in Australia and featured some notable Australian jazz musicians. I was told by someone years ago that it was possiby John Sangster on the vibes, but am unsure about how accurate that info is.
Here is a good intereview with him, from vinyl vulture.

Peace!
Both aren't that easy to find down here. Boney has loads of bits to sample, which I have, but is also just a dope record.
Ha ha... You want obscure... track down his soundtrack for the Hagar the Horrible cartoon (not sure if one exits to be honest..Ha!)... Defintely try & find the 'Nature Walkabout' soundtrack, which has a picture of suplhur crested cockatoos in a tree on the cover. Very cool melodic kooky stuff. The most impossible one to find is the soundtrack he did to the Sydney filmed late 60s soft porn flick 'The Set'. The film hasn't been seen since then & remains an obscurity both on vinyl & film wise.
Good luck.
Just found a page on the Boney TV show...

Now if you can find the Sountracks to some other Aussie TV cop shows like 'Bluey', "King's Men' & 'Ryan' then you're doing better than we are. They exist, but nigh on impossible to find.
Hey IP,
Do you honestly think that Boney is dope? Personally I thought it was utter shite, sold it for $5, nothing like Inner Space or his library work... I guess if you were desperate you could pull some samples off it.
I picked up a copy of THE SET on Phillips. Awesome. Every copy I've seen was a white label with the a picture cover of a couple running naked... two groovy funk instrumentals and some more dancefloor joints + samples...
peace.
You like Innerspace, Kinetic doesn't, I like Boney, you don't.. ha. funny stuff..
$5...??? I saw someone buy a copy last year in England for ??60.
You scored the Set. Well done. The poste for the film have a couple on a bed.
You ever seen the soundtrack for Bruce (Gyro Copter in Mad Max 2) Spence's 70's film Stork?
70s soundtrack from the flick The Great MaCarthy has some sample worthy moments as well.
I swear all we bloody made down here in the 70s were soft porn flicks.. Like Alvin Purple.
Can you provide us with a scan here sheep, to provide some proof ..
WTF?? Don't know why I'd bother trying to prove myself to you... but here you go tedmeister (photo from eBay auction, because I am in Japan, but if you still don't believe me, I will take a photo of me holing my copy for you when I get to Australia);
A copy went on eBay recently for $80, not too expensive for this record. James1Ski came to my place and listened to it a couple of years back... his face was like this
Gotta go back and listen to The Boney again IP, and yes, The Great McCarthy is a great OST!! On the CAM label (Australian imprint??). Two crazy tracks on there... would love to get some of those old Aussie cop OSTs. You seen THE REMOVALISTS on VHS right? Pretty cool movie...
peace.
patience young jedi... I'm still in the land of the rising sun and my "aussieraers" are still in the land down under... 2 more months...
peace.
You just proved yourself, good job. Now lay it easy on the sushi!
hit me on the PM, we're overdue for another trade anyhow...
peace.
seen it slip by for the $60 mark a couple of times over the years...
peace.
Yeah, everyone's got different tastes with aussie stuff. The Boney soundtrack is nowhere near as tough to find. I've seen at least 3 copies this year, and yeah I think it's overrated too!
But just so I don't come off like a hater, I really like the 'FARM' soundtrack, by Innermost Limits of Pure Fun. That's probably as hard to track down as Inner Space. Only copies I've ever seen are the ones I own.
And on a sidenote, The Great Mcarthy soundtrack: it's on Cam, and I've never seen anything else on this label except a French Library record. The logo looks the same and everything. Anyone know anything about this label? Any other Aussies seen any other releases on it?
The CAM label that 'Great MaCarthy' is on, matches the Italian library/OST/Cine Citta label CAM (Creazioni Artistiche Musicali). Although I can find no references to CAM releasing it, the font and logo are exactly the same so I assume it was put out by them. God knows how that came about.
Another Sven related question, does anyone have the 'Nickel Queen' OST? Whats it like?
Peace!
Well there you go. Thanks for that!
And since we're all talking about Sven, my favourite thing that I've heard of his is the theme he did to this series:
I haven't got my camera with me so I can't show you what the record looks like, but it certainyl doesn't look as good as it sounds. Nice flute-driven funk.
