  • the break is the 12", which I've seen as French press on Malligator (plays at 45, so you can't speed it up) and US on Atlantic (rarer plays at 33, speedupable for that super "real shit" CLAP CLAP)

I guess there is a French LP with this on it too.

You don't want the regular US Cotillion cut (45, LP) it is no good.

Dude, CERRONE IV (and accompanying 12") is not what you want

That track is NOT the classic break

I have a trade (cbs) copy if anyones in need...

  • whats the difference? no crowd noise at the start?

  • Yes, what you want IS the live album version.

That's got the version everyone knows w/the crowd noise, etc.

The other one is ga-bage. Sounds NOTHING like the break you're familiar with.

    Don't even bother.

Correct, although IMHO that break has always been quite overrated.

I wasnt aware that this is rare in the US, its pretty common here in DK, the CBS dutch pressing that is, Im not sure if there's a german or english press also, the french OG on malligator has a foldout thing with the cover, where as the cbs ones just have normal gatefold, the pictures are the same.

paulie, i got 12s of it that have crowd noise and good non LP break. 33rpms, proper when sped up. it sayeth from Cotillion LP "the Golden touch". "Rock Me" on the A-side, 4:05 rocket in the pocket on the b side. 1978 atlantic and 1979 date on the a-side
theres no good break version with no crowd noise right?
