...there needs to be a website like Dante's Ohio Soul Recordings, I know this idea has been kicking around for a while...
I'm stating the obvious here, but the Leon's Creation album is really derivative of early Sly & the Family Stone. If you like that sound and don't own all of their first four records (i.e., pre-"Greatest Hits"), that's the place to start.
You might also check out some of the stuff Leon Patillo cut with Santana, including a really faithful cover of the Leon's Creation song "Mirage."
