    Rey knows the deal.

Try to find the Hipgnosis book with all that stuff.
It is and has a lot of insight into the process of their work.

    WALK AWAY RENE?

What's so weird about Hipgnosis is they seemed like real coked-out dudes with big budgets who spent their careers making artwork that would appeal to 14 year old potheads while simultaneously making fun of them.

In that light, it's not real surprising that one of that agency's partners was Throbbing Gristle's Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson.

I do know that when Glenn Gregory used to strut into his local in Sheffield, they used to say " 'Ere 'e is... David Fuckin' Bowie!"

Ok, now I realise this is suits-themed covers. Thought it was old Americana. Ooops.

    I interpreted it as both.

I'd like to think that this is just trolling.

Never overestimate the public.  Saw this on Twitter a while back, before I decided that Twitter was a Waste Of Time X Pissboiler Collabo.  Now throw in a Musk-Vanity project and I'm triply-out.

Cosmo and McCoy still on it but life is too short.

My ignorance made me google this and before I discovered the links to 70s prog rock artwork I went down the Merck Mercuriadis rabbit hole.

I think it's just a sign that rock and roll has become the stuff of old white men, who are now all bitter and insecure and apparently incredibly stupid.

That's certainly the case in Brazil, where rock fandom has turned into some thinly veiled white pride bullshit with dudes who listen to Whitesnake act like that shit is the pinnacle of Western Civilization. Some people in Brazil were outraged when Roger Waters came to play and added Bolsonaro to his Fascism is on The Rise video projection thingy. I guess they've been a fan of him forever but never got the memo.

  • Bit like the classic "RATM fan shocked at Tom Morello's politics" situation. A combination of just never listening to lyrics or learning anything about the music you like, and aging making a lot of people (thankfully not all) much more scared of the world and thus reactionary.
