you guys sound like you don't like jazz fusion

A taste here and there is nice. I like checking in on Domi and Beck occasionally but I'm not sweating their release schedule, I'll put it that way.

That DOMi & Beck vid is really quite amusing old chap.
Music is a bit noodly though. They’re very talented but I’d still rate them if they just sat in the pocket of a nice simple groove.

The deliberate low-fi keyboards sound like a lucky-bag Casio / musical birthday card after a while.  It's a nice melody and chords, would suit a piano and additional bass.  Would make it warmer.  Like Kiefer always goes with the distorted piano and I know that's his signature but it gets annoying.

They are not the worst noodlers though.  A lot of Pat Metheny and bass solos leave me cold.  But it's personal taste, no?  Maybe your ear just gets tired of all the notes after 12 tunes.  It's like art, sometimes something really technically masterful is beautiful, sometimes just a simple shape is, if it's the right shape.  Sometimes you are the surfer, sometimes you need to be the wave.

I find quite a lot of it too be too fusion for my taste.
So has anyone got any post nineties or so recommendations for good jazz (that isn't fusion)?

Mind you, I probably do like fusion - is this within the genre?

Spacy, electric Instruments and proto-Prog drumming = Deffo fusion.

Excellent. I enjoyed "Black Focus". Reminds me that I need to revisit Joshua Tree; the park, not the U2 LP, one of these days.

Brandee Younger. I'm going to see her in September.

I have her first three CDs but don’t know what to expect live. How was the concert?

My daughter wanted to learn the harp when she was little but we went for piano and violin instead. I just realised that Brandee is playing London’s Ronnie Scott’s tonight, a day before my daughter’s 18th. Kid wants to do something else and tickets are unexpectedly pricey at £50 and up…. Undecided
