Who knew this?
Any recommendations of available FLAC multitracks?
How do you know in advance which label has made this available for their downloads?

Can’t see those instagram pix, but I “knew”… Soulseek.

I am not on Soulseek but I assume that people share stems there which they obtained from wherever they were leaked?
In Jorun’s example he is pulling  commercially available FLAC files (one example a Henry Mancini track and the other one by Sly Stone) into a DAW and they convert into multitracks.
There are a lot of people, including industry insiders like Questlove commenting underneath that they did not know this exists.

So it’s new AI tech that separates a stereo WAV into stems.

No, I don’t think so. Jorun, who posted the FLAC “discovery” has been posting videos of isolated drums and his entire series called “instrumentals you never got” for years. He did this in meticulous studio work and has impressed other producers at Jazzy Jeff’s annual Playlist retreat for 10/11 years. I truly believe that Jorun discovered something that was lying there in plain daylight in some FLAC files without many people knowing.

The AI driven sprectral separator (and similar tools) have been posted by him and other producers for the last couple of years because they make this available to the masses, though still at a steep price. Check out Doctor Mix showcasing iZotope RX8 for example. There’s a cool video where he creates a Beatles a Capella and separates Lennon from McCartney…LOL.

Can it separate Bernard Purdie from Ringo Starr?

LOL, I think I saw a youtube video that broke this down... Purdie was brought in to overdub heavier drums on some Italian 45 issues of early beatles tracks years after the fact, or something, by the label, with no involvement from any beatles or george martin or anybody. So in a way, it's been done.

And Purdie was VINDICATED! well not really. But if you'd done that, wouldn't you make the claim the same bombastic way he did?

I don’t know the Purdie / Starr story, but here’s an example of Claudio Passavanti, aka Doctor Mix, separating Ringo from the rest of the Beatles using Lalal.ai (not IZotope):
