Who did Daði Freyr og Gagnamagnið copy?

I am having a controversial discussion with my teenage daughter and need to make my point that Daði Freyr og Gagnamagnið’s Think About Things is a rip off of another pop/dance hit, but my knowledge of that genre is limited, so I can’t name it.
Soulstrut help me out.

I have these conversations with Dudette all the time, and she gets defensive saying all music borrows stuff, which is true, but...

    is California Dreaming...

...no idea what that Daði Freyr og Gagnamagnið is, but I don't watch tv or listen to radio, so know nothing of modern pop.
    Sounds a bit Daft Punky.

It sounds vaguely familiar... but personally now mentally mashing Daði Freyr og Gagnamagnið’s "Think About Things" with George Benson's "Give Me The Night" - you know, the former's "Baby!"... with the two-strum motif under "...Night".
