  • Cool, checking out 2 & 3 now! This used to be a specific interest of mine - I came close to buying a model D minimoog before they were astronomically priced collectors items despite having very little residual keyboard skill. Ended up with just record knowledge and totally unused technical knowledge of synths instead. So moog-oriented breaks are like a combination of my two late-90s early-2000s obsessions.

  • What's the track with the Bernard Purdie solo in the middle of part 2?! Why has this passed me by

I think this is what you're talking about?  The track "Slinky" around 27:14 on the youtube link...

  • Yeah, that's the joint! That record largely passed me by, I had no idea it was nearly as dope as this. Hell of a rhythm section, not just Purdie but I am reading it had Jerry Jemmott too. I've heard enough Purdie solos to know it was him though. Well done on the mixes, I've listened to both now and it's nice to hear some moog breaks that are new to me.

  • That cover version of Al Green on Volume 3 is incredible.

    Yeah...it's pretty tasty:

I'm partial to this album though for him:

Glad you took time to listen!

Hope you dig them...nothing too flashy, just quality tunes arranged to my fancy.

Volume 3 is my personal favorite but they all have some joints!
