I was donning a pair of these yesterday and realised I'd had them 4 years and they are still holding up well.

Plus my Toyota Hilux is coming up to 300,000 KMs and 20 years old and still strong as an ox.

it's good when shit just works properly.

+ on.

I inherited a Toyota Hilux some time  ago. It was built 1991 and it still working like a charm. Built like a tank but also comfortable like a tank.

Me - rather be an hour early than a minute late, and never backed out of a commitment in my life*

About three dudes I know - would bank on them pulling me up by the hair if I was falling down to the gates of Hell

Fender Strat bought in 79 - solid, still got original curves in all the right places, neck is still straight and still plays every note as true as day 1 - in stark contrast to various wimmins, none of whom make the reliable list

    * except marriage, but that commitment was to something called God, which doesn't exist and therefore a fraudulent trade

I'm in constant search of reliable anything. Who has time or money to replace stuff? Plus my therapist says I get mad about things breaking because in my mind they are abandoning me.  I'm not trying to up your shoe reliability game, I swear. I realized I'd had these for 23 years yesterday and still wearing them out (functionally, not socially):

My 1987 Honda XR200R is the most reliable vehicle I've owned and it gets about 70mpg. Not one problem in 9 years:

Cosign on the personal reliability. I don't flake on anything for any reason.

What about 1200s? Those things won't quit. I'm on my second pair in 18 years. I only replaced the first ones because they were ugly after having been stolen so many times.

    Dems is some solid shits.

I did have a pair of Nike ACG mid-tops with some spd pedal inserts that lasted me 10 years, from Arctic Circle to Barrier Reef and years of muddy MTB rides.

Mistake was machine washing them, the adhesive came apart.

    Sailor V.

That was the first thing that came to mind. I think I bought my pair in 1996 (after, regrettably, having several pairs of various inferior turntables). Still going strong. Those things are fucking tanks.
