I remember back in the day I put this album on. Everything was fine until the song psalm 69 came on. I remember me and my girl laughing at how awful it was. NEVER leave a cd on repeat either. I did that once
oh yea the cure's disintegration got some rotations...
My opinion is that instrumental music is always to be preferred when doing the nasty, can get awkward if the girl ain't all that into the music and some dude is singing about love and shit in a very exagurrated way (like soul music can be sometimes..) , but then again most people don't listen to lyrics all that much so it's probably in my head....
This is where it's at. Don't need to hear anybody else's voice. Autechre are nice. Boards of canada are like the ultimate (although you might wanna skip the songs with children's voice samples in them). A friend of mine said she preferred the Blues Explosion. I mean, what guy who goes along with that?
I shit you not, a girl once put on "Sexual Healing" before she got in bed with me. It took all of my strength to not walk straight out of her apartment.

well she gets an A for effort right? Girls have a free pass in that dept, are you really going to walk out the door because she put on something over the top? If so dude then I don't know what to say.......
Life in a shared house means some background music (muffling!) is almost a must just for the sake of a little privacy. Blazing downtempo. Aphex Twin minus his abrasive tracks, instrumental beats, nothing that's going to suddenly get your attention with lyrics or jarring sounds. But really, interesting music is for afterwards, and a perfect time to turn your significant other on to something that requires real listening as opposed to the audio wall-paper of the Philistines.
I thought for sure I answered this 10yrs ago. Perhaps another thread. Way back in the day I had some seduction records I liked to use, Esther Phillips - Confessin', Smokey - ?, Teddy Pendergrass- Stay With Me, and some other things along those lines. Once a girl friend asked me (shades of Bassie) why we were always listening to some poor girl being seduced.
I listen to music at work, turn it off when we are working out.
I've alwasy been on the fence about listening to music while you do the nasty. It can get creepy and intense. A firend of mine and his girl used to listen to the Portishead Live album almost every time. A friend of my girl's told us the other day that Led Zepplin is good sex music. Creepy. I once used Songs of Innocence back in the day, which was bit homoerotic to say the least. So whats the good sit? Vocals or instrumental? Butrock or soul? Cool jazz or A love supreme? Avante synth or private William Eaton? Dont spare any details on stories.
Funk and soul were made for love making : )) Is it frowned upon here to link to one's own stuff? (I'm pretty new). If not, these are my "Foreplay Sessions" 1,2 and 3:
Gf of a couple years back had a fantasy involving some light bondage in a Moroccan cave. Lighting and props courtesy of candles and the local sex shop respectively, but damn I was glad not to have thrown out that Arab moods library cd. I had run out of patience and ideas by about track 7, if memory serves.

can't really knock it if it works though.
Star in your own porno.
The first time I heard this, I had to have sex immediately.

coltrane - ballads
hathaway - live
been listening to this recently, sounds like it would fit the occasion.
/L
Raj told me he always felt weird about the radio show after that...
It was weird when he started to play it on every show from then on...
1. this is probably the wrong board for this question. ...or maybe only the BabyStrutters should speak on it.
2. this has been brought up multiple times. FAQ addition?
ok, one girl I was with liked vocal stuff, so I played stuff like...
but most girls I've been with enjoy the blazing downtempo and such...
but in all surriousness, the mix idea isn't too bad.

ayo!
Dude that version is so fucking gay. shudder
not from personal experience but a female friend likes darkstep drum n bass.
Then something like this when you're skin to skin:

That is on some cub scout "Prepared" badge shit.
I guess "Tea in the Sahara" just won't do in such circumstances.
