Cover Graphics that don't work

I get a kick out of cover graphics that don't fit the musical style.

2 examples that I have recently stumbled accross

Stephen Stills with 80s hard rock hair band graphics. (I am never going to listen to this, maybe it does fit the music, Jimmy Page plays on a song.)

Oldies collection with Grateful Dead inspired graphics. (Motown classics, Andy Williams, Cream and Bob Dylan all in one collection.)

Thanks Mr M. I never saw that before. Louis Belson 1954.
Could be free jazz from the 70s.

DSM is great. Love his stuff.
His stuff for Folkways/Asch/Disc sometimes gets overlooked.

The one above does not look like his work.

  • Pretty great reggae LP that hijacks a surrealist painting by Rene Magrite.

I got Apple Music and it replaces a load of original covers with horrible reissue or comp covers, will post a few tomorrow but anyone else had that?

This cover works on so many levels, but it doesn't really reflect the type of music on it (which is great btw).

So does that mean that this cover works more?

Sylvia's labels did a lot of weak covers.
