After seeing gary numan perform "cars" on snl I had to have his pleasure principle album in 1980.

Peace, stein...

I was obsessed with Taste of Honey's - Boogie Oogie Oogie. The bass line blew my mind. So I had to have this K-Tel comp.

Bionic Booger Breaks and some Nervous records battle shit that I can't remember.

Couldn't wait to try them out...on a horrendous pair gemini belt drive turntables.

Had no fucking clue what I was doing....but I was hooked.

Booger Breaks was my first battle record

First music I bought with own money was a voucher I got for my 10th birthday for WH Smith. I got V/A 'Hip-Hop & Rapping In The House' cassette because I'd heard Doug E Fresh/Slick Rick "The Show" on the TV advert and I needed it

    Hey,

I never got an allowance, but one of my early record purchases (on my own) was the first Clarke/Duke Project LP (off the strength of Stanley Clarke's "Rocks, Pebbles, and Sand" LP) and "Ghost in the Machine" by The Police back in '81.

    Peace,

Space Oddity on 45 from that shop that sold records as a sideline to its floristry main string.
I like to recall it as 1970. Last time I checked the vinyl, the label had 1973.
    Breakface.

  • Beatles "Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields" 7". I think.

  • I was 9 the year was '78 and I was also in love with Olivia Newton John. So yeah you know I took down that Grease soundtrack at K-Mart.
