So, in addition to looking through teenage-era journals, photographs, concert ticket stubs and letters from a long-distance relationship, the flood had me coming across all kinds of records I forgot I had or thought I lost.
I was very happy to unearth my TW Funkmasters Love Money 12", Clash Magnificent Seven 12" and Air (Hebrie Mann production) LP.
I also pulled this, realizing I had not really given it any time since I got it from a friend. It has only came off the turntable in the past week when I took it to play at the radio show. It is SO GOOD.
"You've Got My Soul on Fire" is the jam. Always play that one for Soul Shifter/ Circle of Fire fam. Free get's loose to that joint.
Reissue of spectacular Spanish crud from 1967. Sometimes compared to the Stones but that's just because they cover "Paint It Black." There's a lot more going on here than a Stones rip.
Sitting on my decks right now (spinning, actually, as the Mrs is in there listening to it as she loves it too, bless her) is Alice Russell & Quantic with his Combo Barbaro - Look Around the Corner
The Heptones "Night Food". The arrangements and vocals are as smooth as marble. The lyrics to the big song on here, "I Hold The Handle" took me a little back, though.
dim and fuzzy - same way I like my guys.
kidding.
excuse the poor quality, but you can make out what's been keeping me company this weekend.

Hey Stratasphere,
Yes, you did post live pictures; however, others are posting You Tubes and stock LP photos. To those to whom I'm referring, let's see those live pics!!!
Sorry - terrible photo. The record in view is The Selecter 'Too Much Pressure' LP. I heard this for the first time in decades being played in a cool vintage shop in Tokyo last year and had to retrieve it from storage. Has been getting play on and off ever since.
I know this isn't DJ music but some of you guys dig Seventies Fusion music and use it for breaks. For the past week I have been all about this live recording from 1973.
