A pioneering figure on the New York reggae scene. A friend of mine who now lives in London grew up in the Tri-State area and Philip Smart used to DJ on her college radio station in the early-to-mid-80s - in her words, "they were amazing days to be in NYC".

I didn't know he co-wrote this at 15, though. Quite a start to a life and career in reggae music.

    yeah, he djed on wnyu from 1979-2004...

    so much nyc reggae was recorded by him
