my town's not immune; Tartine sees a crazy line for morning buns every day:

never had a pastry I'd wait in a line for. what am I missing?

  • The part that blows my mind is people buying cronuts on Craigslist. I can't ever imagine buying food off of Craigslist.

    :weaksauce:

  • putting me in a line like that right out of bed could be argued as second degree murder

you guys remember when Beard Papa and those other japanese pastry shops were all the craze? They were good, but not worth waiting in line for.

as far as I'm concerned you play yourself waiting in an outdoor line for ANYthing: kicks, Apple shit, donuts, tickets.

    this is America.

Real Americans don't even know what queue means.

  • So "Real Americans" really means Stupid Americans?

I guess I already knew that.

  • Has anyone actually tried one of these things?

    I disagree.

Ive waited online for Kicks, Star Wars reshow, clubs, teh supermarket, Comic conventions, special art shows, and The Rucker.

Now doin it for a cupcake...i cant fusk with. But still.

Waiting online at the Zeigfeld for Star Wars was part of the magic.

New donut spot just opened up around here. Called Dawn of the Donut. It's a a zombie themed joint.

It's been having lines. I'm planning on waiting in it this weekend.

Pretty much this. I mean, I can understand queueing for a gig or a blockbuster, but this is just food. There must be something else they can eat without having to wait an hour.

    Nothing tastes that good.

There were a few times I waited in the line at the Momofuku bakery, it may even have been out on the street.

I was drunk, and it wasn't for cake or pie, it was for the pork buns.

    Description

The Ulti-Meatum is the burger seen in The Best Burger in the World. It is heard that it only comes out every century. It is served from the Grill 'Em Up Truck by its head chef, Ajay Maldonaldo. Only one per customer is allowed.

    Appearance
It is a large cheeseburger, cooked into a larger burger with two other burgers for buns. There are layers of cheese, Himalayan Ketchup, and other buns also inside.

    Cooking Method
It is made by stuffing a cheeseburger inside a cheeseburger and using two deep fried cheeseburgers as buns. Then the special Himalayan Ketchup is added.

According to Muscle Man, the Idaho Style Ulti-Meatum is where the burger is made the same way, but with a whole bag of chips in it as well.

    If only it was real.

It's more funny to me to see that people are bothered/concerned with people who decide to spend THEIR OWN time waiting in line for whatever. Grow up and have some children already.

(I know, I know..."It's funny to see people bothered/concerned with people who are bothered/concerned with people who decide to spend their time..." Blah.)

I find people complaining to be predictable and you find me complaining about people complaining to be predictable. Yet nothing changes. Funny, right? Ah well...at least we try.

(Meant to post that right after that last one but it didn't go through.)
