while it never really left, I had recently put this album back in rotation on my iPod. Songs still stand the test of time, but I will go on record with suggesting that the interludes "from prison" (which appear on damn near every song) can get in the way at time.
that said - there are some pretty killer quotables on those interludes too.
I need to get me some mutha phuckin ass...some hass....some YA-YA
Despite no music videos or official singles being released, it is their best selling album with 847,454 copies sold as of 2011, with 67,200 copies sold in its first week out.
Ridin' Dirty. It was the 1st album UGK had full control of musically. It sounds exactly as Pimp intended.
No offense to anyone but all this "such and such was released 20-something years ago today" got to stop. Makes me feel like we're living in a post-nuclear desert or something. Play some Rasheed Chappell instead.
Thanks for posting, this is a great thread... Busted this back out today.

Ban?
You could "only stomach"?
You can't even get with a standard Curtis Mayfield-Future Shock loop by way of Pinky Ring?
And it's Ronnie Spencer interpolating the Isley Brothers, not Marvin Gaye.
Maybe not ban, but go ahead and sit yo ass down.
