Did he say he paid 10Gs for one record he spent 10 on records more than one time?
I took it to mean that on more than one occasion, he had spent 10 grand on a bunch of records. Like, he talks about going to the Roosevelt convention and dropping 5-6K on several crates' worth of stuff.
Great episode. Egon is the man. I appreciate the lengths he goes to in order to reach out to the creators of this amazing music. His session with Jagari Chanda for RBMA was brilliant.
I've always said that if I could inherit anyone's music collection, it would be his.
I agree that the videos would be off the charts if they could play the songs they are talking about. But there are click-thru links on the video.
Egon on Crate diggers; someone needs to show this to Jermaine Dupri:
Ha! It's funny that it started off with that Christ Gabriel record - Eothen stopped by my place straight from picking that up from Stanton Davis and the first time he heard it was when we dropped the needle on it. It's totally sick, btw.
That Question Mark record is cool, but not my fave from that scene.
Does anybody know what's happening with this? I need my fix of record pron and it's been a while since the last episode aired.
Real fiends know the deal.

Ah ha!
I see you're back! I'll take your silence in the reDigi thread as not knowing and not caring.
Really enjoyed that, love that Lee Moses 7". I picked it up for buttons years ago, seems to sell quite high nowadays
haha in fuckin sane, great, thanks for posting this, cereal box 45 moment = WOW!
That's lacist :-P
Swear to god they better not let me do one I WILL GO FUCKING IN.
Have they seriously not even hollered at you about it?
how can we get this to happen?
nope
The moustache soul section alone would be worth it
I would seriously pay for a feature-length Thes1 crate-diggers episode
(does everyone remember the digging stories thread???)

Good episode, though. Kid Capri is dope.
Yea, very good episode.
When he's playing the racist stuff and talking about how they referenced it in the Boondock's episode.
Interviewer "I thought they made that up"
Cash with a huge smile "No, they really hated us"
Fucing classic
I think we need a knee slapping Cash Money for a new "That's Racist" gremlin.
They all have some good stuff, but Cash Money has been around and is an OG DJ. He blew people away just with his 45's and didn't even get to 12".
Just one about the Alex Blake record would do it for me, nicest bass I've ever heard
this was pretty sick i have to say..
I haven't seen them all, but that was one of my favorites. I wanna hear that Question Mark LP!
Only flaw in the series - they don't play the records!

Looks like they'll be putting the new ones up on fuse.tv in the future. So the full length is HERE.
Topical too, Stark Reality gets a little name drop at the end.
