Congrats jammy! C7's is my favorite. It was really close, though. I knew mine was going to suck compared to everyone else, but I have the "it's my first day" excuse. Time to step up my game for the next one.

jammy, please to make a post on the main page and share some more of your stuff with us.

Thanks everyone (especially the_non)! I surprised myself and smashed that one out super fast in the first week of the contest and just left it as it was. It was great hearing what everyone did with the track. I think the source material this time made for a good contest so i'll be careful to choose something apt for the next BeatOff.

Any suggestions for the next source?

Breaking my own rule about drum breakz:
    Patrice Rushen-You Remind Me
    Isaac Hayes-Walk on By
    Isaac Hayes-Hyperbollicsyllabicsesquidalimystik
    Meters-anything by them

    Drum breakz:
    Long Red Live
    Big Beat
    Ashley's Roachclip
    Amen Brother
    NT
    Synthetic Substitution
    I'm Chief Kamanawanalea
    Isley Bros-Footsteps in the Dark
    Jeff Beck-Come Dancing
Dynamic Corvettes-Funky Music is the Thing

Anybody up for changing the rules a tad? Like, whole album? Two songs? Something. The results are always such a mixed bag anyways, might as well throw a curve to shake it up.

I think whole album could be cool. Keeps the sound consistent in terms of instrumentation, but opens it up a lot. The Numan album would have been pretty cool for that.

    Just a thought.

A whole album seems like it would defeat the purpose of seeing what people can do with a same piece of music. That said, a track like this last one is quite limiting imo. Maybe the next one could be a song with more variations or elements. The Isaac Hayes proposals could be pretty interesting in that regard.

    Excellent work, jammy, and congrats!

I am kicking myself for not putting in more of an effort to complete something. Def gonna try a little harder next round.

I'm kinda feelin crab's suggestion of people....hold on. There could be a lot of different interpretations of that one

Yes. Until then - is a link possible? Or will it eventually show up on the ScorpioBeatOff Sound Cloud page?

Done, now public. Also included is an alternate take of the Scorpioff winner, which is also really good.
