Well, whiteness is conceptual construct anyway (completely devoid of any real meaning in a genetically differential sense, as anyone who has a clue about such things already knows), so I guess it all boils down to how you choose to identify yourself. I prefer to think of him as an adopted American.
Although, by that standard, Irish Catholics aren't white either. And trust me, they are the palest human beings on god's green earth.
