Any one know the value of The Meters Struttin' lp on the Jubilee label. And if it was the original label that pressed it or was it the Jose label?

The OG label was Josie. Jubilee was for the Canadian pressing, no? My guess is that "Struttin" would be more around $50, assuming NM condition, if it's on Jubilee. Possibly less.

Jubilee and Josie were both distributed by the same company, J/G.

  • sorry to bump an old thread, but it's pretty relevant to this thread topic, and i don't want to make a new thread for such a simple question

i'm curious about the label style for this release, i've seen quite a few ebay auctions claiming to be originals that had this label design

but i was under the assumption that that label was the more current reissue design, and a quick google search yielded a picture of struttin with the label design that i am familiar with

(gotta copy the link into your address bar because of the space between josie and 3.jpg)

are people who are bidding on those auctions where josie is written vertically gettin duped, or did josie switch label designs around the time that struttin was released so that there ended up being originals with both label designs??

The vertical Josie labels were transition labels around 1970 so oval and color bar labels or vertical Josie labels can be original. Thanks for bumping this thread. You just gave me a reason to pull out my copy.

  • woord, thanks for the reply, been wonderin about that for a bit a now, i'll just continue to spin the first 2 until i can get my hands on a copy of struttin
