Verocai: Luv N Haight or Kindred Spirits release?

I'm not willing to sell my car and wait for an OG to pop-up on the 'Bay, so what Lp reissue is better for sound quality? It seems there are still copies of both pressings around. The Kindred Spirits release is advertised as a "deluxe edition," is 180 gram vinyl, and costs twice as much as the Ubiquity/Luv'N'Haight album. I don't mind paying that if it sounds better.

    Pretty sure it's the same master. The KS release restores the gatefold and has some additional session pics on the innersleeve.

    People with the Luv 'n' Haight reish were saying that 45Ivan/DJ Ferrari's 320 rip was better sound quality, so probably worth splashing that little extra on the Kindred Spirits.

    KS sounds much better, imo. The sound is clear and loud, in opposition to LnH that sounds muddy.
    And I had both reissues. I know that KS was made from the master tapes.
    Can someone confirm if LnH used the master tapes, too?

    Excellent... thanks fellas! I was already leaning a bit towards the Kindred Spirits release with the thick vinyl and gatefold.

    there is panning that exists in the og that doesnt exist on the Luv n Haight reissue. I've never heard the KS version.

    I would buy the KS, just because KS is better at production and release high quality new releases, plus there out of Amsterdam :roar:

    Hmmm. I know the LnH was not from the master tapes.

    The story I heard was that the master tapes were long gone and that KS used the LnH master. The KS website doesn't mention master tapes at all, just that it's 'remastered' - where did you find out that it was from the OG tapes?.

    EDIT: Just did an A/B/C comparison of all three releases - the LnH and KS sound identical to my ears, and they are both pretty different than the OG.

    I talked to Antal, KS' owner and he told me they used the master tape to their reissue.
    Didn't ask him if the tape was the same used in the LnH job, though.

    The difference in quality between the LnH release and 4D5N's rip is startling. After hearing the latter, it made me think that the LnH release was recorded by a tape recorder in a tin can sitting next to a stereo playing the record.

    Can't speak on the KS release, personally.
