im meh on electronic music as well, although I am huge Bjork fan...but I could listen to her do her stuff accapella and a some birds chirping in the background and a dumptruck backing up...her context isn't important to me as her voice and songs...but if electronic instrumental music died immediately after the release of this record, it wouldn't bother me...nothing put out after this era entertains me very much...

I'm genuinely unable to think of a specific genre of music that "bores the shit out of me", because generally I don't waste my time listening to music that I think is boring. For those reasons, I refuse to write anything off completely. This has nothing to do with a lack of discrimination, and everything to do with my belief that there is no form of music that has nothing at all to offer. There are some forms which may not have anything to offer me, but so long as I'm under no obligation to listen to them, there's not going to be a problem.
As for Spidey's opinion, sure he's entitled to it. And I'm entitled not to give a fuck for it and to say so. Likewise, I don't give a fuck for the notion that everyone's opinion carries equal weight. They don't. An informed opinion wins every time. If you make a sweeping generalisation about how an incredibly rich and varied form of music "bores the shit" out of you, then don't whine when people step to you with sweeping generalisations about how you might be a cloth-eared dick. Especially if you then go on to say you didn't mean all electronic music, just the Steve Aoki/Swedish House Mafia/I'm-in-Miami-bitch/E! Even when I was there a few years ago, Vegas clubs (on the Strip at least) were awash with what was then still being called "guido house", a slightly racist term referring to the popularity of high-tempo untz-untz Eurocack like Cascada amongst Italian-American males.
There's also this, which, apart from its enormous comedy potential, made me feel less like Mr. Old And Hopelessly Out-Of-Touch Yet Desperate To Remain Down With The Yuteman Dem than I have done in a very long time.
