I was thinkin about it. I've got 2 kids and I think it's time to retire from the game. Anybody have any experience in this arena? I figure most people on here are probably too young to have thought about it but what the hell.

I guess my biggest fear would be gettin in my 30s or 40s or something and being like, "hmm, maybe I want some more kids after all."

Mate, if you're only in your 20's now then isn't it a little early to be going for a vasectomy? Even with two kids... unless it really is reversible. I thought about it a year or so back but decided to wait a while longer.

as far as the pain is concerned... i accidentally sliced my shell about two months ago, giving myself a lil' haircut. prolly the worst pain i've ever known (i've broken bones, dislocated the same shoulder thrice). funniest thing about it was that my mom was on her way over to drop some shit off, and she wanted to take me to the emergency room for some stitches, but my girl talked her out of it, and we just stuck with steritape. so make sure you rub some novicane on yer shrivel first or something.

dammit, i was about to eat some lunch but i think i'll be earlin' instead. thanks

  • I would try to get my woman's tubes tied instead. or birth control - bigger jugs and regulated periods is a win-win situation...

I just have like a childhood fear of knives near my balls. I guess thats actually my biggest fear.

BUT -- its still prolly better than condoms

Thats not cool dude. Getting tubes tied is a larger surgery than a vasectemy. Therefore more risks. And keeping the woman on hormones can be bad, even lead to breast cancer. Women go through enough, lets try to make something easy on them.

They go through childbirth, and periods EVERY MONTH and you cant take a couple days of ball pain.

    man up.

    that saved me some typing.

You might also be able to to freeze some of your juice, in case you want kids...

i'll bet your kids would always be kinda cold if you did this.

we were talking about this on the weekend - i have a friend who knows she does not want babies and decided to get fixed (she was under 35 then). she went to her doctor and the doctor said she would have to go through a battery of psyciatric sessions. this is how far things have progressed.

People who choose to pro-create ought to have the psychiatric tests.

For the first time in my life, I now have to think about birth control. Rubbers are alright, but the combination of those things feeling like a car tire around my junk and stressing if they will leak/break really ruins it for me. And based on the research I did, pulling out or the rhythm method is some risky business. The lady and I and have been thinking about the shot or the patch, but they cause weight gain and heart attack risk, respectively. At the time I didn't really pay attention to the last birth control thread way back, but didnt a lot of you recommend some pill that doesnt cause hormone craziness?

    Condoms = blehh.

Birth control = how i got my second kid.

I figure just gettin the shit cut is the way to go. I don't have to sweat it too much since I don't have good insurance right now but I've been thinkinggggggggggg

Sex fear free. That will be new.

If you don't want to get cut and you don't want to have kids these are the best I have found.

They are a little expensive, but still much cheaper then having kids.

haha just kidding. I didn't realize y'all were so sensitive, I mean with all these porn threads, who would've thought someone would get offended by a "jugs" or "balls" joke? you can't get cancer from birth control can you?? thats not in the commercials as a risk

No, I think they were offended by the fact that you would have your "woman" undergo a risky surgery and hormone therapy so you could avoid a couple days of pain and a simple surgery.

  • a vesectomy is "simple surgery"? not sure there is such a thing. birth control is "hormone therapy"? its not that big a deal.. whatever tubes are a legitimate option to consider. you could get an operation, or she could get one. or birth control. you gotta think about options before you let someone cut you, or your woman (birth control). options man..

yeah, you don't even have to go to the hospital. they just slice that shit & you walk out.

Bottomline: there's no real guaranteed birth control out there. Vasectomies can fail, the pill can fail, pseudo-rhythm method + withdrawal = my daughter.

    Holla!

For real though, a vasectomy is not a bad way to go if you're definitely decided that you don't want kids anymore. I guess if you want to be EXTRA careful, both you and wifey can go in for some tube tying/slicing.

As for the male birth control pill: alas, this won't be coming to market for AT LEAST five to ten years, last time I checked. The problem is that while it's relatively easy to turn the female reproductive system "off" via hormones/chemicals, it's much, much harder to do the same with men, at least based on how far advanced research has been on this. (I would imagine that male contraception research has lagged behind female, probably for the same reason why male virility research is ahead of female).

Most of the treatments out right now are experimental, all involve some kind of injection, including one straight up into your testicles.

And what I think most try to do is shut down the sperm-production area of your body. From what I know, it doesn't stop semen production, so for those proud of their Peter North-like emissions, you're still all good.

I don???t want anymore children because then I???ll have to stay home for a few more years until that child can go to pre-k??? I don???t really trust too many people with my children???

I'm with you 100%. My son never went to any sort of daycare and I'm a little mad it's looking like my daughter will have to go. Of course, she almost made 3 years daycare free so that's pretty good in and of itself.
