Fearless Four Appreciation

Tonight I dusted off that familiar orange Enjoy! 12 inch with the generic gray label & proceeded to play "Rockin It" 3 times in a row. The opening strains never fail to bring a smile to my face. It was 1982 & everybody had Planet Rock & The Message on the brain, but this electronic chunk of funk tore shit up. Starting off with the Poltergeist intro (They're here!), DLB, Tito, Mike C & Peso spit over a throbbing Kraftwerk beat by way of Pumpkin (RIP). I don't want to be on some old man shit, but it's a shame that cats like Timbaland & Miss Elliot are lauded for their sonic landscapes when The King of the Beat was doing the same shit 2 decades ago. Anyway, do yourselves a favor, put this classic on & for further shits & giggles, play the instrumental.Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!Oh yeah? OH YEAH.

  • Aaah yes. Love it, though I'm actually tired of hearing aaht particular track these days. Especially after Sadat X remade it.

I prefer 'Dedication' & 'It's Magic', but it's still a great track indeed.

Are there any other related 12" by the, members apart from these...

That cover was crazy when it came out... like, a record company is actually spending a little money to try to make it look like they take rap seriously. Picture covers, especially those that didn't look mad cheap, were pretty rare back then.

"Fearless Freestyle" on the Problems Of The World 12" was my jam, though.
