I never really liked her Hot Wax/Invictus records, but Laura Lee was hell on wheels when she was recording for Chess. Never did a proper album for that label, but when she hit it big elsewhere in 1972, Chess put together this random, cash-in compilation. Pure fire.
If you don't like Peggy Scott-Adams'"Bill," you've got a hole in your soul. "I was ready for Barbara, Sue, Mary and Jane/But all the time it was BILL that was sleeping with my man..." And the rest of the CD is just as tuff.
