That was the subject of an ancient SS thread, so I'm not sure if it's searchable. Basically, Dante kept everybody twisting in the wind as folks filled in the blanks and then spilled on the one that no one else could I.D. (or rather, which could not be I.D.'ed by anyone who hadn't been told by Dante, since he was the only one with a copy of Stone Coal White).

Among other things, the tracks were:

    Creations Unlimited: Chrystal Illusion
Doug Anderson: Mama, Here Comes the Preacher
    LA Carnival: Blind Man
    Preacher: Life Is a Gamble
Stone Coal White: You Know You Know
Young Senators: Ringing Bells Pt. 2
    Black Rock: Yeah Yeah
    Gran Am: Get High
    Iron Knowledge: Show Stopper
    Black Merda: Cynthy Ruth

I forget titles on the rest, but I think he also put stuff by the following on there:

    Curly Davis
    Curtis Knight
    Sir Stanley
    Jade

(Didn't like these, so I flushed 'em from the MP3 player.)

don't sweat it just giving you a hard time cause I don't have the answers in front of me. I had this and somehow lost it, if someone wants to send me some mp3's or otherwise I'd be much appreciative

  • try playing it through winamp, i did that and a tracklist came up.

    it's called "volume 2" but i've never heard of a "volume 1".

I've actually got four or five of those C+BE 45s, already. If I'VE got them, by golly, you know it's time to change the game.

  • sorry to bring up an old thread, but does the group Gran Am who did "get high" have other 45s or any LPs?

Is all of L.A. Carnival's stuff pretty good?

  • Options

    6. jakob's kelly - funk key (j.k) (4:12)

WHat's the story with this? Origins? I have it, but the info is somewhat sparse.

No and nope. But, the flip of "Get High"..."Angel Of Love" is mind blowing! Deep, deep, deep out of tune soul!

  • A few of the tracks from Vol. 2 were on the mix that I did for that BTS Radio show on the Web.
Quality unknown psych-funk is a very scarce commodity.

Maybe we'll have to put Volume Two out sometime soon.
