Bidding an exhorbitant amount of money on a certain Latin LP solely because a person of your acquaintance has asked you not to do so, even though you only have about three Latin LPs to your name (and therefore plenty of room to get your Willie Colon and Ray Barretto discographies right before moving onto the more obscure pieces), and the record in question would clearly not be filling a crucial gap in your collection as it would be for the person who asked you not to bid.

    I am speaking less of the closing price than of whatever number you actually put in as your max bid, which I am confident was significantly higher.

    On what basis did you "want" it? You were asking me as recently as yesterday if it was a good record.

    And, no, I'm not actually mad at you--a cleaner copy will turn up soon enough.
