Quantizing on pro tools

how do you make this shit work properly?? I put it on input quantize so the MIDI is supposed to align itself right. maybe I'm screwing up the "include within" "exlcude within" ?or is the midi track coming in quantized, and the audio coming in isnt coming quantized and you have to record the MIDI track over again to the audio track.its not a vinyl/sample question, but somebody must know
