Coxsone label curiosity

I'm wondering what the deal is with the discrepancy between these two labels. Anyone know the story why Coxsone was abridged "Coxson"? And when exactly the latter label was used? I found a Heptones 45 on the shortened Coxson label, so I'm curious.I'm thinking that this version of the label is much harder to track down.

The bottom example is a rare 2001 soulstrut issue coxsone single. On soulstrut we spell Coxsone C-O-X-S-O-N. We mispell like that, savy.

LAbel on the top is later 70's, but numerous singles on that label are original (as Dodd was obviously still pumpiing out tunes a that time). As far as Jamaican spelling goes, it changes daily.

P.S. That "Ska Jerk" 45 was bought at Monica's - noticed the "Wigs and "Hair Pieces" in the stamp

Genrally, catalogue numbers on the label (such as CS1056 above) tell of early/original pressings.
