Islands in the Stream...Kenny AND Dolly, how can you go wrong?

See, that's a good song, but not really "White Heat."

    White heat is more

    than

    and more

    than

    Hey Raj,

Here are some of my favorite childhood AM gold classics:

    1. "It's Too Late"-Carole King.
    2. "Miracles"-Jefferson Starship.
    3. "You've Got a Friend"-James Taylor.
    4. "These Eyes"-The Guess Who.
    5. "Tin Man"-America.
    6. "Help Me"-Joni Mitchell.
    7. "Lowdown"-Boz Skaggs.
    8. "Chuck E's in Love"-Rickie Lee Jones.
    9. "Sailing"-Christopher Cross.
    10. "Peg"-Steely Dan.

Now you see why my friends thought I was a weirdo?

    Peace,

I don't discriminate, mane, good music is good music. That's back in the 70s (except for "Sailing" I think?) when the radio played decent music.

No discrimination at all, just perfect examples of this "genre" than I have created (in my head.)

It's just funny that a young Black kid listened to a lot of White music. Boy, did I used to get ripped on for that. I guess I was

    YESSSSS

I AM SECURE IN MY MASCULINITY, JONNY PAYCHECK (how you doin'?)

    Hello, it's me

I've thought about us for a long, long time

Maybe I think too much but something's wrong

There's something here that doesn't last too long

Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine

    Seeing you

Or seeing anything as much as I do you

I take for granted that you're always there

I take for granted that you just don't care

Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through

    It's important to me

That you know you are free

'Cause I never want to make you change for me[/b]

    Think of me

You know that I'd be with you if I could

I'll come around to see you once in a while

Or if I ever need a reason to smile

And spend the night if you think I should

    It's important to me

That you know you are free

'Cause I never want to make you change for me[/b]

You know that I'd be with you if I could

I'll come around to see you once in a while

And spend the night if you think I should

    THIS IS VITAL MUSIC, MANG[/b]

  • Maria Muldaur- Midnight At The Oasis[/b] (anybody know of any instrumental covers of this?)

If you are comfortable enough with your masculinity to appreciate a nice flute

  • Crosby, Stills and Nash- Just A Song Before I Go
    Seals and Crofts- Hummingbird

  • would paul mccartney - uncle albert be classified?

it was a hit single, so it may as well have been...

BUT THE PARTY DOESN'T REALLY GET STARTED WITHOUT:[/b]
    CHI COLTRANE "Thunder & Lightning"
    B.W. STEVENSON "My Maria"
SANFORD-TOWNSEND BAND "Smoke From A Distant Fire"
KING HARVEST "Dancing In The Moonlight"
CHARLEY PRIDE "Kiss An Angel Good Morning"
    DOBIE GRAY "Drift Away"
    JONATHAN EDWARDS "Sunshine"

...and 8-track best-ofs from BTO, the Guess Who, Jim Croce, Lobo and Three Dog Night.

  • Van Morrison- Moondance (I guess this could fall under AM gold)

FM gold, maybe, but AM gold? I'd go with "Domino," if it was left up to me...

    5. "Tin Man"-America.

OH SCHITT I FORGOT ABOUT THAT ONE!!!!

    "Sometimes late
    When things are real
And people share the gift of gab
    Between themselves

    Some are quick
    To take the bait
    And catch the perfect prize
    That waits among the shells

    Chorus:

But Oz never give nothing to the Tin Man
That he didn't, didn't already have
And Cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of Sir Galahad

    So please
    Believe in me
When I say I'm spinning round, round, round, round
    Smoke glass stained bright color
Image going down, down, down, down
    Soapsud green like bubbles."

Those cats might've been smoked up when they wrote this. Who know? I love this song, though!!!

First off folls, real heads know that Christopher Cross is AM PLATINUM[/b] . Don't even throw his name around with this other junk. The only other artist visible in the intense glow given off by Cross' Fender Strat on hush mode is this AM bonecrushing ninja right here.

Cracklin Rosie, I Am..I Said, Kentucky Woman, Song Sung Blue and Sweet Caroline. Neil Diamond is the Bob Dylan of AM Radio.

One night I was watching Charlie Rose and just about spit up my Ramen when he straight faced asked some famous musician. "Why is it that some artists are able to keep creating while others just seem to disappear. I mean look at Christopher Cross and those two amazing records he put out and then bam nothing". Crickets. The musician looked as if Charlie had just shot him through the forehead.

Yeah, that's what I meant instead of "Carefree Highway" which kind of annoys me..."Sundown" is the one that starts out

I can see her lying back in a satin dress
In the room where you do things
    that you don't confess

    Right?
    That one is awesome.
Nothing beats "If You Could Read My Mind" though. That track is next-NEXT-level
